We know the any machine knife or blade is only as good as the steel it is produced from. At Precision Edge we pride ourselves on the quality of our workmanship, but we know that without using the highest quality steel available and also ensuring it is correctly heat treated we cannot obtain maximum performance.

As a result we source our steel from selected quality manufacturers. Most of our Heat Treatment is through vacuum furnaces and all HSS material is triple tempered.

Steel Technology

Precision Edge is manufacturing using the very latest in Steel Technology available. New types of steel that have only recently been developed are now taking the performance properties of all types of blades to a level that was previously unachievable.  We have been working very closely with several of Europe's key steel manufactures as they have been developing new steel technology over the past 10 years.

Significant increases in blade wear resistance and longevity are now available. As a result we can offer Knives which will retain their cutting performance over a much longer period and suffer far less surface wear making their regrinding life greatly extended.
